But it turns out he's made of chocolate. I know, isn't it weird?

Actually I didn't go out to any midnight sales of Harry Potter and the Blood-Borne Pathogen. I've been nailed with a rather impressive case of con crud that's turned into a nice ear and sinus infection. So no softball or other activities for me today. Ah well. Perhaps I'll actually get caught up on LJ instead...

Wouldn't that make Hagrid and River... confection twins, or something?

Aw shit, man. I only just got to the part where River gets admitted to Hogwart's, and you've spoiled it for me!

I'm sorry.... I had a witty response all planned and ready to go, but I was derailed by a more compelling need to know just what in hell is that in your icon?

Nice icon
That icon is really eye-catching.

I think I already know Hagrid's secret, though. In the climactic scene of the new novel, a focused Hagrid will tell an embattled Harry, ... "I am your father, Harry."

That's from the movie Kontroll, which is about the lives of ticket inspectors on the Budapest subway. Apparently it's a lot like working at DeVry, only with better working conditions but more savage beatings and people being pushed in front of trains. The girl in the icon is Sofie, who is described by Roger Ebert thusly:

One day a bear wanders into the system. This is a young woman named Sofie (Eszter Balla), who always wears a bear suit, perhaps because she is employed as a bear, or more likely because it is her fashion choice. She keeps an eye out for her father, an alcoholic train driver who possibly thinks he sees bears and is occasionally comforted to find out he is correct. Bulcsu begins to have feelings for the bear.

Based on the "Bulcsu begins to have feelings for the bear" plot point, I expect this movie to show up in the lineup at a con's video room at some point.

Bummer about the continuing biowarfare in your head. I hope this batch doesn't hang around as long.

And hey that truffle oil scene with Hagrid and River was completely unexpected.
